(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Tokyo March 10 (QNA) - Japan lodged a protest Thursday with North Korea for firing two short-range ballistic missiles into waters off its east coast in violation of UN Security Council resolutions banning Pyongyang from conducting any launch using ballistic missile technology.
In a National Security Council meeting convened after the missiles were launched early in the morning Prime Minister Shinzo Abe demanded that North Korea not conduct further provocative actions and pledged to respond resolutely against the country in close coordination with the international community according to (Kyodo) news agency.
Japan filed its protest with North Korea over the launches through diplomatic channels in Beijing saying they were in violation of UN Security Council resolutions and posed a danger to the safety of planes and ships travelling near the North according to government officials. (QNA)
