UAE- Cabsat opening day marks partnership deals with Middle East launches

Dubai: The first day of Cabsat witnessed partnership agreements in addition to Middle East launches of latest products.

Inmarsat the world's leading provider of global mobile satellite communications on Tuesday announced the signing of its first UAE distribution partner for its L-band communications services Global Beam Telecom following a signing ceremony held on the opening day at Cabsat.

"The signing of Global Beam Telecom is a critical step in our plans for growth in the region" Paul Gudonis VP Enterprise Inmarsat said.

"We are excited to bring Inmarsat's global services to UAE. This partnership with Inmarsat allows us to meet our customer's stringent needs for MSS." said Abdullah Sulaiman CEO Global Beam Telecom.

OSN the leading pay-TV provider in the Middle East and North Africa announced its partnership with Eutelsat for more HD channels and sets stage for Ultra HD services in the region.

OSN will take advantage of the additional capacity to introduce Ultra HD services that will bring the most cutting-edge TV experience to viewers in the Middle East offering true immersion with an image quality four times richer than Full HD. OSN also plans to ramp up its HD offer with eight new channels announced recently and several new premium and exclusive channels to be launched soon.

UAE-based satellite operator Yahsat has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore the possibility of new joint opportunities with existing partner IEC Telecom Group (IEC Telecom) in Africa. The agreement comes ahead of Yahsat taking delivery of its third satellite Al Yah 3.

Panasonic Marketing Middle East & Africa unveiled its latest VariCam LT for its first regional appearance at Cabsat. VariCam retains the ability to shoot in both 4K (4096 x 2160) and UHD (3840 x 2160) and features high sensitivity low noise wide dynamic range and a cinematic depth of field.

In order to maintain the VariCam 'look' the VariCam LT is equipped with a 35mm single-chip MOS sensor originally developed for the VariCam 35 and has a same wide dynamic range. This ensures accurate image rendering over the entire image from dark areas to highlights.

Starz Play Arabia the on-demand video streaming service available in 17 countries across the Mena region is screening two episodes from its extensive library of exclusive content at the venue's Content Marketplace.

Ericsson is showcasing its latest media solutions paying special attention to the evolution of the cloud and the use of multiscreens in the Middle East region at the exhibition.

Content owners TV service providers and broadcasters gathering at Cabsat 2016 discussed challenges of the TV industry which has resulted in the growth of the cloud as well as the popularity of multiscreens. Ericsson addressed these challenges by offering simple yet powerful solutions at its stand during the event by presenting its vision for the future of cloud-driven experiences.
