Kuwait- Lebanese solider killed in attack on IS position

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BEIRUT March 10 (KUNA) -- A Lebanese Army soldier was killed in armed clashes that erupted early on Thursday with militants of the so-called Islamic State on outskirts of Al-Qaa village in Northern Bekaa Valley east of Lebanon the official National News Agency (NNA) reported.A number of IS gunmen were killed and wounded in the gunfight when the troops targeted militans' movements in Wadi Rafeq on the outskirts of Al-Qaa the NNA said. Militants from various organizations are entrenched in the rugged areas of eastern mountains between Lebanon and Syria. The regulars frequently engage in confrontations with them.The army has reinforced its deployment and military measures along the eastern mountainuos ridges targeting every move by the gunmen to deter them from taking positions on Lebanese territories.
