Qatar- British Food Festival 2016 opens at all Lulu outlets

Doha: Lulu Hypermarket Group has again set the stage to explore major food and food habits of Great Britain by organising British Food Festival in a big way.

The festival is hosted by the Group in association with the British embassy and the British Council and inaugurated by British Ambassador Ajay Sharma and his wife at Lulu Hypermarket Al Gharrafa in the presence of Shaijan MO Regional Director and senior officials from Lulu Qatar Region officials from the council and UK Trade and Investment and senior executives from leading business groups in the retail industry and other walks of life.

The festival until March 17 at all Lulu outlets is in line with the celebrations envisaged by the embassy and based on Lulu’s annual calendar of events at its outlets in Qatar.

It aimed to celebrate the culinary heritage and food habits of the Western world and make it popular among the local community and large cross-section of expatriate communities.

Lulu every year holds innovative festivals to promote food and food products of various countries.

The Group has been organising British Food Festivals for many years and the response every year is overwhelming.

Every year it culminates with the showcasing of the complete range of British manufacturing covering grocery fruits and vegetables delicatessen dairy products frozen foods bakery products fish hot food household and health and beauty among others.

This is an occasion for the local and expatriate communities to understand and experience the food of the Western world as the festival gives them the opportunity to blend together in culture and heritage.

Lulu Group as a global player in the retail sector launched its operations in Birmingham UK with the inauguration of Y International (UK) Ltd. in 2013.

The major activities of the fully-owned subsidiary are procurement consolidation and export of British products to its 123 retail stores.

This year the Group has launched two new major British product — Harrogate Water and Oxford range of biscuits chocolates and speciality tea.
