Oman- Qatar Airways receives Bank Muscat Award for Excellent Performance

Qatar Airways Qatar's national carrier was the recipient of the Bank Muscat Award for Excellent Performance in the 'Airlines Category' for the year 2015 during a ceremony held on Sunday at the InterContinental hotel gardens.

Qatar Airways vice president GCC Levant Iran Iraq and Yemen Ishfaq Jalal. The annual awards now in its 11th year is held to honour recognise and celebrate the success of the bank's top partners for their contributions to electronic payment which is fast becoming the

preferred mode of secure payment.

For more than 15 years Qatar Airways has offered direct flights from Qatar to Muscat. In 2013 the airline launched direct flights to Salalah further opening up Oman to customers across its network of more than 150 places.

Today Qatar Airways operates 36 flights a week to Oman from its Doha hub Hamad International Airport.

Jalal said 'Qatar Airways is proud to have served Oman for over a decade opening up Muscat and Salalah to passengers from around the world via our hub in Doha. It is an honour to receive this recognition from Bank Muscat which echoes our commitment to Oman and to our customers.

Qatar Airways serves Muscat with its modern fleet of Boeing 777s and 787s and the Airbus A330. Daily departures connect customers in Oman to all major USA European and Asia destinations enabling passengers to enjoy travelling long distances while immersed in Qatar Airways' award-winning comfort.

Qatar Airways currently flies to eight major US destinations including Chicago Dallas New York Los Angeles Miami Washington Houston and Philadelphia and will soon add two new routes to Boston (March 16) and Atlanta (June 1) as well as an additional daily flight to JFK New York in April 2016 offering daily non-stop services to ten of the largest metropolitan areas of the US.

Qatar Airways has expanded rapidly during its 19 years of operations and today serves 150 destinations around the world with a 178 state-of-the-art aircraft including the A350 XWB for which it is the global launch customer.
