UK records 0.7pct climb in industrial output over Jan

(MENAFN) For quite some time now, Britain's industrial industry has been facing many setbacks, which was reflected by top steel firms logging major losses.

However, UK manufacturing production data came in a lot stronger than forecasted, based on latest numbers from the Office of National Statistics.

Basically, manufacturing production has increased by 0.7pct month-on-month throughout January 2016, beating analysts' expectations of a 0.2pct growth.

Additionally, industrial production registered a 0.1 percent decrease on a year-on-year basis, which also surpassed initial projections of a 0.7 percent plunge.
