ExxonMobil integrates Apple Pay at gas stations
(MENAFN) ExxonMobil will start accepting Apple Pay as a form of payment at nearly 6,000 ExxonMobil gas stations around the United States, based on recent reports.
In particular, Apple Pay will be basically included into Exxon's current Speedpass+ app, which is free to download and utilizes your geolocation to pull up local pumps.
In accordance, this means that unlike the experience at almost every other point-of-sale system that works with Apple Pay, unfortunately these payments will not be tap-to-pay.
However, paying via an app instead of swiping a card doesn't seem much practical in terms of saving time, but on the upside, app users don't have to take out a wallet or purse.
