UAE participates in Arab Teachers Union Central Council meeting in Cairo

CAIRO 8th March 2016 (WAM) -- The United Arab Emirates has participated in the 19th session of the Central Council of Arab Teachers Union which was held yesterday at the Headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League in the presence of heads of teachers' associations in Arab countries.

The UAE delegation was led by Dr. Saeed Misbah Al Kaabi Chairman of the Teachers' Association and included Mash'al Khamis Rashid member of the Board of Directors of the Association.

The meeting which was held under the banner "In order to protect the unity of the Union and enhance its role and achieve its objectives" was attended by the Secretary-General of the Arab League Dr. Nabil Elaraby and the Egyptian Minister of Education Dr. El-Hilali El-Sherbini.

Dr. Elaraby called for the consolidation of Arab efforts for the advancement of the education system stressing the importance of the role of the Arab teacher in the fight against violence and terrorism and in contributing to the success of the Arab renaissance project in order to achieve the desired Arab unity.

He also stressed the important role played by the Arab Teachers Union to develop the education system and contribute to the development and raise the efficiency of teachers in the Arab world and work to uphold the Arabic language.
