Football: Drama as Liverpool Steal Three Points at the Death

(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) With the last kick of the match, 10-man Liverpool defeated Crystal Palace 2-1 in an end to end match.

After a furious first half that ended goalless, Crystal Palace took the lead early in the second half through Joseph Ledley. Liverpool's hopes of a comeback looked over after 63 minutes when vice-captain James Milner was booked for a second bookable offense.

However an absolute blunder from Palace's keeper Alex Mccarthy brought Liverpool back in the match; under very little pressure, Mccarthy passed the ball into Roberto Firmino's feet who made no mistake and put Liverpool level.

Instead of protecting the draw, Liverpool pushed for the winner and got very close on two occasions. They got their reward in the final minute of injury time when Benteke fell in the box under a challenge from Daniel Delaney. The substitute dusted himself up and converted the penalty to give Liverpool the lead.

The Reds are now in seventh place with 44 points. Crystal Palace on the other hand are in 15th place with 33 points.
