Kuwait remain top in Amir Shooting Grand Prix


(MENAFN- Arab Times) Kuwait continues its winning streak in His Highness the Amir Fifth Annual International Shooting Grand Prix through Eman Al-Shamma who won the bronze for Skeet Women beating Afrah Mohammed 16-13; while Olga Panarina of Kazakhstan won the gold medal after defeating New Zealand's Chloe Jane Holden Tipple who got the silver medal (15-13).

The tournament concludes Monday at Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Olympic Shooting Complex where the gold medal for Double Trap Men will be awarded to the winner.

Amongst competitors from 31 countries, Kuwait remained on top of the medals list as it won two gold medals, one silver and two bronze. Kazakhstan came in second with one gold, Lebanon and New Zealand tied in third place with one silver medal each, and Egypt came in fourth with one bronze medal.

Meanwhile, Eman Al-Shamma expressed her happiness for winning the bronze despite the stiff competition, asserting she is honored to be among the participants in such a tough tournament. She dedicated her medal to HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, HH the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad and Minister of Information and State Minister for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Al-Hummoud.

On the other hand, Assistant Secretary of Kuwait Shooting Union Adnan Al-Ibrahim extended appreciation and gratitude to HH the Amir for his unwavering support for the event and the shooters. He also thanked all those who contributed to the success of the grand prix, disclosing the participants have expressed admiration because the tournament is well organized.
