Ameresco revenue and earnings grow as core business prevails

(MENAFN- ProactiveInvestors - N.America) American renewable power firm Ameresco (NYSE:AMRC) told investors revenues rose 6% to $630mln over the twelve months to December 31 2015.

Earnings (adjusted EBITDA) were reported at $45.9mln up 12% while net income was declared as 6 cents per share.

Ameresco's core business handling energy saving performance contracts (ESPCs) showed 'outstanding' growth said chief executive George Sakellaris who also highlighted that the company had faced challenges with its Canadian operations.

'No business is without challenges but we tackled ours head-on and are now positioned to thrive in 2016' he said.

'We took decisive action to fix problems in our Canadian operations which were a drag on consolidated results this year.

'Our Canadian team has new leadership and a streamlined structure and should return to profitable growth in 2016. Similarly we reworked our software strategy integrating our building efficiency monitoring packages into our project offering.'

Sakellaris says new software marketing strategies would save money and increase the value of the company's project work.

'These changes required charges as we ended 2015 but we believe this investment will pay off quickly in the form of improved financial results' he added.
