(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Baghdad March 04 (QNA) - Iraqi Parliament Speaker Salim Al Jabouri on Friday met Brett McGurk the U.S. president's special envoy for the global coalition to counter ISIS.

During the meeting the two sides reviewed the latest security and political developments in Iraq and the ongoing liberation operations as well as preparations to liberate Mosul. They also discussed international efforts and the need to beef them up in coordination with the Iraqi side.

The parliament speaker pointed to the global coalition's efforts to support Iraq particularly in the economic arena and backing the councils of liberated cities and reconstructing them.

For his part McGurk briefed the Iraqi official on his moves and meetings with several officials in Baghdad and provinces to explain the mechanism of providing support for them after their liberation especially in the field of security and relief. (QNA)
