Norway logs 29pct hike in seafood exports over Feb


(MENAFN) Norway has shipped out seafood valued at USD787.4 million in February, reflecting a 29 percent jump as opposed to last year's corresponding month, based on recent reports.

The nation exported salmon worth USD485.9 million in the cited month, representing a climb of 26 percent as opposed to 2015, plus France was the biggest recipient of Norway's salmon.

Moreover, exports of herring, mackerel, salted fish, fresh cod and shellfish have robust development in the mentioned month, however; exports of clipfish slipped by 20 percent in February.

Until this month, seafood worth a whopping USD1.6 billion has been exported, translating into a surge of 24 percent compared with the same timeframe throughout the previous year.
