Pakistan's Inflation hits 4.02pct in Feb


(MENAFN) As the key inflation indicator increased over 4pct in February, Prices of vital merchandises in Pakistan witnessed a sudden surge last month.

According to the latest reports, Inflation, which is measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), climbed 4.02 percent y-o-y throughout the prior month.

The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of State Bank of Pakistan had kept the policy rate untouched at 6pct on prospects of a benign inflationary atmosphere.

However, this time the growth was severe compared to the 3 earlier months, plus the CPI had clocked in at 3.3pct in Jan, which within a month rose above 4pct.
