Iran's oil exports to India jump 21pct in Feb


(MENAFN) India's oil imports from Iran increased by over a fifth last month, the 1st month after a nuclear pact that removed limits on Tehran's oil outbound shipments.

New Delhi shipped in 215,500 bpd from Tehran in Feb, a rise of almost 21pct from last month and more than double the nearly 111,000 bpd in the same month a year ago.

The Islamic Republic emerged from years of economic isolation in Jan when world powers led by the US and the EU terminated crippling sanctions against the OPEC oil producer.

The Persian Gulf Republic is currently working to recover market share after restrictions' relief and exports had already climbed by 500,000 bpd throughout the prior month.
