Japan's Marubeni to construct coal power plant in Egypt


(MENAFN) Japan's Marubeni Corp and Egypt's El Sewedy Elect agreed with Egypt's state-run elect utility to conduct a study to build coal-fired power plant in Egypt.

Moreover, the Japanese trading firm will boost its power infrastructure business worldwide and to build a 400 megawatt gas joined cycle power in Bangladesh.

Accordingly, Japanese companies were ready to take part in Egyptian projects value almost USD 17.5bn in the elect and other sectors.

Both firms will conduct a feasibility study into building an ultra-supercritical coal-fired power plant for the Egyptian Elect Holding Company.
