Oman- MoCI asks construction sector to regularise operations

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) has called upon institutions and companies operating in the construction sector to adhere to Ministry of Manpower rules and regularise their operations.

According to a press release companies have been urged not to employ workers for jobs other than those for which they are issued licences. Companies have also been asked to take steps to achieve the Omanisation rate and maintain a record of all agreements and financial statements. Documents must be produced before the ministry whenever required.

All company cars equipment locomotives and trucks should bear details of the company. Companies must also take necessary measures to ensure the safety of workers by adhering to the health and safety standards.

The last date for companies operating in the construction sector to regularise their operations is June 20 the release added.
