UAE- Al Tayer receives Netherlands Ambassador

DUBAI 2nd March 2016 (WAM) -- Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer MD and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority DEWA has received Frank Molen Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and Lotte Schippers Head of the Economic Department and Deputy Head of Mission at the Netherlands Consulate-General.

The visit is one of a series by diplomatic and consular officials to DEWA to explore relations exchange expertise and promote mutual cooperation. Dr. Yousef Al Akraf Executive Vice President of Business Support and Human Resources at DEWA and Ahmed Abdullah Senior Manager of External Communications also attended.

During the visit Al Tayer welcomed the guests and highlighted the prominent development projects and the series of strategic initiatives undertaken by DEWA in Dubai. This included the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park the Hassyan clean coal power plant smart grids and DEWA's three smart initiatives to support the Smart Dubai initiative.

Ambassador Molen commended the efforts of DEWA to develop the UAE's energy sector particularly in Dubai. He expressed his interest in participating in the 18th Water Energy Technology and Environment Exhibition WETEX 2016 which has become a well-known specialist exhibition in the calendar of important shows in Dubai and is also interested in taking part in the Dubai Solar Show 2016.

Al Tayer said that WETEX has strengthened its position as an ideal platform to discuss important topics relevant to energy water natural resources conservation and sustainable development. The exhibition will be held in conjunction with the World Green Economy Summit 2016 from 4th - 6th October at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
