(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Mexico City Jumada I 21 1437 March 01 2016 SPA -- Former Guatemalan football federation president Brayan Jimenez has agreed to be extradited to the United States in relation to an ongoing investigation into corruption at world governing body FIFA the Guatemalan interior ministry said Tuesday according to dpa.
Jimenez was handed over to American police officers and is to travel to the US on a scheduled flight Tuesday. He was arrested in Guatemala City in January having previously been on the run after US authorities requested his extradition.
The US has accused Jimenez and other football officials in South and Central America of corruption surrounding the award of marketing rights for international tournaments.
