Oman- MECA PDO clean up Al Qurum Resort

The Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs (MECA) recently organised a clean-up campaign at the Al Qurum Resort.

The campaign was held in cooperation with the employees of Petroleum Development Oman (PDO). As many as 80 employees of PDO participated in the campaign stated a press release. The Directorate General for Nature Protection and Sea Environment Protection Department organises such campaigns as part of its environmental awareness policy.

For its campaigns MECA seeks cooperation of members from society private companies and civil society organisations. Bader bin Yousif al Balushi head of wetland environment delivered an awareness lecture and spoke about the importance of conserving the environment.

He also highlighted the ministry's other initiatives and plans on protecting trees. The PDO volunteers were taken on a tour of the resort where they saw migratory birds.
