Qatar- Germany Seeks Deporting Asylum Seekers to Morocco

(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Berlin February 29 (QNA) - German Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere travelled Monday to Morocco to ask the government in Rabat to take back more unsuccessful asylum seekers.
German news agency (DPA) reported that it was the latest bid from Germany to alleviate the pressure on its migration authorities. Talks with the Moroccan government representatives will mark the first step in a three-day tour of the Maghreb with Algeria and Tunisia next on de Maiziere's itinerary.
The minister said the use of biometric data to identify people on the move is a priority. He added that Germany would help the North African countries develope their biometric databases. (QNA)
