Qatar- Al Rayyan eye title in game two

Doha: Defending champions Al Rayyan will be looking to seal the deal and emerge winners of the Qatar Basketball League (QBL) today when they clash against Al Sadd.

Last week during game one of the best-of-three final series Al Rayyan hammered Al Sadd 78-48 to take a 1-0 lead.

Ngombo Tanguy Alban and Davon James Dominic scored 21 points each in Al Rayyan’s convincing win three days ago.

Alban and Dominic completed their all-round performance with 3 and 5 assists respectively as coach Koufos Stergios walked off a satisfied man at Al Gharafa Indoor Hall.

In Al Rayyan’s win Hill Lawrence scored 16 points and managed 4 assists.

Abdulla Malek Salem scored 6 points for Al Rayyan.

For Al Sadd Kone Mohamed Deba and Raffa Anthony were the two players with double figures. Deba scored 20 points while Anthony managed 13 points.

Al Sadd’s Abdi Khalid Suliman chipped in with 7 points while Fouda Moustafa managed a tally of 6 in a losing cause. Earlier the same day El Jaish crushed Al Gharafa 83-66 to claim the third spot in QBL in the 2015-16 season.

The Qatar Basketball Federation (QBF) organisers of the league said the second game will commence at 7:00pm at Al Gharafa Indoor Hall.

The game is expected to draw a huge crowd for what could be the final game in the league.The Peninsula
