Saudi Arabia to import 870000 tons of wheat

RIYADH 29th February 2016 (WAM) -- The Saudi Grain Organisation has completed bid procedures for the first batch of imported wheat for the current year amounting to 870000 tons of wheat from Europe Americas (North and South) and Australia.

The Saudi Press Agency SPA quoted the Director General of the Organisation Ahmed Bin Abdulaziz Al-Faris as saying ''The contract for this batch comes within the framework of covering local needs and maintaining the strategic reserve of wheat indicating that the arrival of the first batch will be during the period April-June.''
