DUBAI 29th February 2016 (WAM) -- Dubai Courts has become a member of the International Consortium for Court Excellence a global organisation that aims to improve judicial work and achieve court excellence internationally by providing a general framework for excellence designed for judicial entities around the world.

This membership makes Dubai Courts the first judicial institution in the Arab world besides the DIFC Courts to join the International Consortium for Court Excellence which is currently comprised of the membership of about 36 judicial institutions.

Taresh Eid Al Mansoori Director-General of Dubai Courts said that Dubai Courts' membership in the International Consortium for Court Excellence comes as one of the steps in Dubai Courts march towards achieving its vision 'Pioneering and Internationally Distinguished Courts'. "We at Dubai Courts seek to provide an exemplary model in efficient and effective court administration and litigation processes ensuring the enhancement of public confidence in the judicial system locally and globally" he said.

He added "In implementing the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai at Dubai Courts we follow the highest standards in court administration and judicial institutions primarily targeting the achievement of justice in the community and promoting the concept of happiness by improving government services to the highest levels and the happiness of litigants by providing services exceeding their expectations."

Al Mansoori said "Dubai Courts follows clear standards in judicial work in its different forms and types and is working to improve the services to reach global rankings and contribute effectively to the UAE's achievements and Dubai's 2021 vision and goals.

The International Consortium for Court Excellence has designed a general framework for court excellence taking into account several key factors which include various official judicial bodies such as courts of general or specialised jurisdiction rather than alternative dispute resolution centres that are supervised by a court or arbitration centre.

Al Mansoori also said "We are keen at Dubai Courts to lay the foundations for mutual cooperation with strategic partners effectively to ensure the achievement of institutional integration and the elevation of legal work. Dubai Courts' membership in such international institutions contribute without a doubt to the exchange of experiences and practices which eventually serves not only the litigants and clients but also our strategic partners."
