Jordan to float USD 170mn for desert highway project


(MENAFN) Jordan's Ministry of Public Works will float a tender for the application of the desert highway restoration project among two weeks.

Moreover, the project funded by the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) which value USD 170mn, divided into a USD 65mn signed last Nov and USD 150mn loan.

The deal entails a whole rebuilding of the 220km road, which runs from the Queen Alia International Airport intersection to Maan Governorate.

Accordingly, the project will link the capital to the southern region, specifically the Aqaba port, citing increased traffic on the road after the Syrian border was closed.
