Qatar- Prime Minister witnesses field parade in Zekreet


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani yesterday witnessed a field parade carried out by participants of the Sixth Edition of "Thunder and Paratroopers" Session held in the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) fields in Zekreet.
The parade was attended by the Minister of State for Defence Affairs, HE Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah, a number of commanders and officers at the Qatari Armed Forces, the Ministry of Interior, the Emiri Guard, Lekhwiya officers and non-commissioned officers along with a number of families of participants from Qatar and Kuwait.
Before the start of the parade, Lekhwiya Running and Silent Factions carried out a jump parade then a presentation of riot control devices was made.
HE the Prime Minister gave the starting signal for the parade, which began with a landing from the tower by using ropes while other groups were stepping over obstacles and a helicopter carried out a scenario of throwing explosives at one of the buildings.
A group of Lekhwiya also enacted a virtual scenario of storming a building, while another group performed jumps from their mechanisms.
In the meantime, a group of trainees carried out a self-defence show in mass movements while another group made a simplified explanation of an ambush scenario which was executed later on sand table in front of the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.
Commenting on the event, Kuwaiti military attache in Qatar, Colonel Nasser Abdulaziz Samhan, praised the atmosphere during which the parade has been conducted, wishing the Qatari security services all progress and prosperity.
Colonel Nasser Abdulaziz hailed the bilateral security relations between the State of Qatar and Kuwait, describing them as "excellent."
He also highlighted the Kuwaiti officers' continuous participation in the courses being organised by Lekhwiya and the Emiri Air and Naval Forces.
