Oman- Saraya Bandar Jissah contributes to Qantab community

Saraya Bandar Jissah developers of Muscat's newest integrated tourism complex have since inception formed close bonds with the local community through a wide range of community based initiatives.

In 2015 the company has made thoughtful and meaningful contributions to the local society enriching and uplifting their lives and surroundings.

Beginning from community development initiatives to charitable activities and sponsorships Saraya Bandar Jissah has been at the forefront of corporate social responsibility trends in the sultanate. Sheikh Hamood bin Sultan al Hosni CEO of Saraya Bandar Jissah remarked on the importance of building string ties with the local community.

He noted 'At Saraya Bandar Jissah we have always made thoughtful investments on the corporate responsibility front as it is an integral part of our company's philosophy. Our initiatives in 2015 encompassed community development educational and social activities as well as celebrations of national milestones. We are very proud of the accomplishments made last year and look forward to extending these initiatives to newer and more relevant spheres in 2016.'

The Saraya Bandar Jissah project lies in the midst of a longstanding Omani community in Muscat and the company's focus has been to develop strong and enduring links within the local neighbourhood. The project has also been committed to encouraging health and community oriented lifestyle facilities for the residents of Muscat and recently had the pleasure of completing a one-of-a-kind football pitch constructed to international FIFA (Federation Internationale de Football Association) standards for the young football enthusiasts of Qantab.

The 60m by 90m football pitch has synthetic grass installed and serves as a place for youngsters to come together and pursue their passion for the sport. Additionally Saraya Bandar Jissah has commissioned a construction company to build a new community Majlis for the residents of Qantab village. The Majlis which is expected to be completed by second quarter of 2016 is set to become a central community venue for events and gatherings for the members of the Qantab village.

Saraya Bandar Jissah also shares a close meaningful relationship with the local Qantab Public School providing them with support to enhance the school environment with new equipment and enhanced facilities. In 2015 the CSR team from Saraya Bandar Jissah also supported a workshop for all schools in the wilayat of Muscat on 'IT security' conducted by the Community Service & Continuing Education Centre at SQU.

This programme was held at Qantab Public School for five days and many schools were benefitted by it. Moreover in August 2015 a training programme on learning and curriculum development was conducted by Community Service & Continuing Education Center at SQU and supported by Saraya Bandar Jissah for 65 teachers at Qantab public school for a period of five days.
