North Thunder kicks off in Saudi Arabia


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) RIYADH Feb 27 (KUNA) -- Joint military drills "North Thunder" kick-started in Saudi Arabia's Northern Region with the participation of forces from Kuwait Gulf Arab and Muslim countries."North Thunder" is the largest military drill in the world in terms of the number of participating forces as well as the breadth of the maneuver area and attracts attention on regional and international levels the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.The exercises focus on training forces on how to deal with terrorist groups and how to transfer from traditional operations to low-intensity operations it said.The participating forces come from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia the United Arab Emirates Jordan Bahrain Senegal Sudan Kuwait Maldives Morocco Pakistan Chad Turkey Tunisia Comoros Djibouti Oman Qatar Malaysia Egypt and Mauritania in addition to the Peninsula Shield Forces it added.
