S. Korean household spending drops in 2015


(MENAFN) S. Korea's household spending dropped in 2015 despite an increase in income, as households repaid debts and spent less among economic slump.

Moreover, the average consumption spending of households reached almost USD 2.1mn last month, up 0.5 percent from a year earlier.

However, households spending gained 0.7 percent on-year in 2015, while the increase was attributed to a rise in tax and insurance payments.

In addition, the average income surplus surged 5.6 percent on-year as their average monthly revenue increased at 1.6 percent.
