Brunei sheds lights on Kuwait's Nat'l days


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUALA LUMPUR Feb 25 (KUNA) -- Brunei newspapers (Brunei Times) and (Borneo Bulletin) highlighted Kuwait's celebrations marking the 55th National Day 25th Anniversary of liberation on Thursday.
Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam sent congratulatory messages to Kuwait's Amir His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah the Kuwaiti leadership and the people of Kuwait on the occasion of their National Day and Liberation days the Brunei Times said.
In the message to the Kuwaiti Amir the Sultan stated that "he valued the warm and close brotherly ties between both countries and looked forward to strengthening friendship and bilateral cooperation" the Brunei Times noted.
The coverage also delved into historic and economic ties between the two countries.
Meanwhile Borneo Bulletin an independent newspaper noted that "the special relationship between Kuwait and Brunei have kept up strong momentum evident in high-profile exchange of visits at the leadership level cordial bond between both leaders and the strong commitment of both governments to deepen cooperation in host of areas." "I urge all local companies and businessmen to roll up their sleeves and to tap into Kuwait's profitable market which ranks 13th among the best investment markets according to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)'s report entitled 'Islamic Growth Markets Investment 2015" Borneo Bulletin quoting a statement by the Sultan.
Out of a sense of duty Kuwait continues to lend a helping hand to the brotherly and friendly nations especially those affected by war and conflicts.
During the Syrian Donor Conference held this February in London Kuwait announced a further of USD 300 million in humanitarian aid taking its total contributions to USD 1.6 billion for the Syrian people" the newspaper added.
The Sultan's last fruitful state visit to Kuwait last May has highlighted the ever growing amiable ties between the two countries.
The visit ushered in a new chapter of Brunei-Kuwait ties aimed at producing more cooperation initiatives setting in motion efforts to take bilateral relation to the next level with a more coherent framework for mutual investment. (end) aab.mb
