Qatar- HE Foreign Minister Participates in Somalia Conference

(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Istanbul February 23 (QNA) -HE the Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al-Thani took part Tuesday in a Ministerial conference on Somalia which was held in Istanbul.
HE the Minister expressed his appreciation to the efforts of the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud and Prime Minister Omar Abdirashid Ali Sharmarke in countering-terrorism and forming a parliament with 30% of its members women.
HE the Minister praised the progress made in Somalia in terms of democratic transition despite the grave challenges facing the country. His Excellency stressed Qatar's support to the political process in Somalia. HE the Foreign Minister also condemned all terrorists attacks that aim to destabilize the country.
HE the Minister also stressed that it was important the international community was committed to supporting Somalia. His Excellency expressed that the State of Qatar will continue supporting the people of Somalia and building a stable democratic countries.
In concluding his remarks HE the Minister praised UN Assistance head in Somalia Michael Keating for their role in stabilizing the country. (QNA)
