Qatar- Turkish President Meets Foreign Minister


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Istanbul February 23 (QNA) - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met today with HE the Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani in Istanbul.
President Erdogan entrusted HE the Foreign Minister to convey his greetings to HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and his wishes of more development and prosperity for the Qatari people.
HE the Foreign Minister conveyed the greetings of HH the Emir to President of Turkey as well as his wishes of further progress and development for the Turkish people.
During the meeting they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways of enhancing them in addition to the latest developments in the region especially the latest developments in Syria and means taken to put an end to the escalating crisis.
The meeting was attended by Turkish Foreign Minister Mouloud Jawish Ihsanoglu.
Following the meeting HE the Foreign Minister reiterated in a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) the importance of a political solution to the Syrian crisis through the implementation of Geneva decisions stressing the need to intensify efforts in order to find a solution to this crisis.
His Excellency pointed also to the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Syria as a result of starvation and siege policy pursued by the regime calling for a speedy implementation of the decisions related to the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Syrian people as soon as possible. (QNA)
