French Danone logs 14.6pct rise in profit over 2015


(MENAFN) Danone, the French multinational food-products corporation, witnessed a significant 14.6 percent jump in net profit through the previous year, according to the latest reports.

The Paris-based yogurt maker's profits touched USD1.4 billion last year compared to USD1.2 billion reported in 2014, mainly due to greater sales of its fresh dairy and bottled water brands.

On a different note, the food processing giant has four business lines; Fresh Dairy products, Waters, Early Life Nutrition and Medical Nutrition, plus it's marketed as the Dannon Company in the US.

Furthermore, in 2014, its fresh dairy products represented 52 percent of the group's overall sales, Early Life Nutrition 21 percent, Waters 20 percent and Medical Nutrition claimed 7 percent.
