Jordan to raise renewable energy by 20 percent


(MENAFN) Jordan aims to raise the share of renewable energy of its energy mix to 20 percent, especially that the capacity of solar and wind energy projects worth almost 1,000 megawatts.

Furthermore, the ministry works with the private sector to address obstacles facing investors, besides finding solutions that would contribute to activate energy in the Kingdom.

In addition, the minister greeted business with the EU in the energy field, as well as its contribution of 99.64mn to help state debt as well to achieve sustainable energy.

Jordan looks to raise the contribution of regional resources in the whole energy mix from 4-39 percent by 2020 to ease the strain of the energy bill, which constituted 18 Pct.
