Al Jarwan President of the Pan African Parliament discuss cooperation

CAIRO 23rd February 2016 (WAM) -- Ahmed Mohammed Al Jarwan Speaker of the Arab Parliament and Roger Nkodo Dang President of the Pan-African Parliament have discussed aspects of cooperation between the two parliaments and the coordination of stances on issues of concern to the Arab nation and Africa.

During the meeting Al Jarwan said that he highly appreciated the African stance on the Palestinian cause and the rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state on their national soil with its capital in Jerusalem as stipulated in resolutions of international legitimacy.

The Speaker of the Arab Parliament reiterated Arab solidarity with the African continent stressing the keenness of the Arab Parliament to develop a Memorandum of Understanding signed with the Pan-African Parliament during 2013 and expand the areas of cooperation.

The President of the Pan-African Parliament stressed the parliament's keenness to support its relations with the Arab Parliament. He invited the Speaker of the Arab Parliament to attend the next session of the Pan-African Parliament.
