Bahrain stresses serious evidence of Iran's interference

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) MANAMA Feb 21 (KUNA) -- Bahraini Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa on Sunday cautioned against Iran's serious interference in his country's internal affairs citing detailed information and material evidence.Meeting several Bahraini public figures the minister said: "Information and material evidence are more serious than just being press and media information. They are a professional and legal report." He affirmed that Bahrain cannot press charges against anybody without concluding evidence quoting Arab and foreign newspapers as spotlighting Iran's interference in the domestic affairs of Bahrain Saudi Arabia Kuwait and other Arab countries Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.Since 2011 Iran has been trying to have political economic or social presence in Bahrain in order to carry out its expansive purposes targeting the nation's security and stability by using weapons and explosives and destabilizing order he said.He added that "terrorist groups" were established in Bahrain after they had been trained in Iran Iraq and Syria and they have links to Iran's Revolutionary Guard and "terrorist" Hezbollah.They carried out "terrorist acts" that claimed the lives of 17 security personnel and injury of thousands of others the minister pointed out.He added that Iran's interferences are mainly meant to undermine national unity through inciting sectarian extremism and fomenting sedition among Sunni and Shia' citizens in the country as well as blocking political reforms.Bahrain has imposed rules and controls on the movement of capital fund-raising and travel of citizens to unsafe countries as part of its efforts to fight the financing of terrorism he emphasized.The minister urged the Bahraini people to preserve their national identity noting that Bahrain is ruled by a free will that believes in amity tolerance and goodness.
