Qatar- QU college to organise GCC symposium on education

Doha: Qatar University (QU) College of Education will hold a symposium ‘Education in the GCC countries: Innovations and Aspirations’ on February 27 which will bring together 37 academics researchers experts and practitioners from Qatar Bahrain Kuwait Oman Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

The forum aims to promote best practices in education in the GCC and facilitate collaboration and coordination among educators to promote professional development educational research and the development of new strategies in the curricula.

Participants will share ideas knowledge and experiences and seek sustainable solutions to challenges facing the GCC education sector.

Keynote Speaker Assistant Professor Dr Khalifa Al Suwaidi from the UAE University Department of Curriculum and Learning Methods will highlight ‘Coming through the desert: Educational contradictions’.

The forum also feature a presentation on Sheikh Faisal Bin Jassim Award for Educational Research sessions in which presenters will address topics such as successful experiences in capacity-building outstanding expertise in developing educational policies innovative educational strategies for improving the performance of teachers and learners and successful educational projects and initiatives.

College Dean Dr Hissa Sadiq said: “We are pleased to host the forum which contributes to promoting collaboration among higher and general education institutions in the GCC and driving forward growth and development of the education sector.” The Peninsula
