In pictures: Northern Morocco Under Floods

(MENAFN- Morocco World News) The heavy rain that showered northern Morocco on Saturday caused floods and several material damages in Tetouan blocking access to several areas of the city.

Traffic was practically impossible in certain streets of the city as floods were heavy enough to sweep cars parked on the sidelines of the streets.

The rain water flooded houses and caused a chaotic situation in the city.

The heavy rain uncovered the structural weakness of the infrastructure of the city since the drains of the streets and drainage pipes couldn't absorb rainwater.

Immediately after the rainfalls social media users shared photos showing the streets of the northern city flooded because of the rain.

Several comments blamed the authorities for not taking necessary measure to clean the streets drainage pipes.

Some parents have reportedly lived a scary moment especially those whose children were still outside and could not cross the flooded streets while heavy rains kept pouring accompanied by thunders and lightening.

Moderate to heavy rainfalls have been recorded this week in several regions of Morocco with significant snowfall in the High and Middle Atlas regions the Rif Mountains and the hills of the Oriental region.
