ASX All Ordinaries loses steam late in the session

Australian equities drifted lower for most of the session today and a couple of minutes from the close the ASX All Ordinaries is down 0.9% to 5001.

A shining light though was the gold sector following an increase in the price of the yellow metal overnight.

Energy or Oil and Gas

Oil Search (ASX:OSH) down 4.0% to $7.08; Santos (ASX:STO) down 5.1% to $3.36; Woodside Petroleum (ASX:WPL) down 2.6% to $28.00.


Big 4 banks

ANZ Bank (ASX:ANZ) down 2.1% to $23.26; Commonwealth Bank (ASX:CBA) down 1.5% to $73.14; National Australia Bank (ASX:NAB) down 2.5% to $25.51; Westpac (ASX:WBC) down 1.1% to $29.64.
