Qatar- Ugandan President Museveni Win Elections Extends 30 Year Reign

(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Kampala February 20 (QNA) - Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni won a fifth re-election term with 60% of the vote the Electoral Commission said today.

The result means Museveni will extend his 30 years as President of Uganda. Rival nominee Kizza Besigye received 35% of the votes but rejected the result saying the election process was a disgrace. He called on the international community to reject the results.

EU monitors of the election reserved some criticism for the process saying the election was held in an environment of fear. They also said that the electoral commission was not independent. (QNA)
