UAE- Musanada to hand over Yas School to ADEC in July

ABU DHABI 21st February 2016 (WAM) -- The Abu Dhabi General Services Company Musanada is preparing to hand over Phase II of Yas School to Abu Dhabi Education Council ADEC in July ensuring that the school will be ready to receive students for the 2016-2017 academic year. The move is part of the company's efforts to realise the vision of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces with regard to the provision of a stimulating and advanced world-class educational environment for students and the delivery of quality education that will create a promising generation to engage in serving the nation and the community.

Saeed Mohamed Mit'ab Al Mehairbi Musanada's Buildings Director said "Musanada is working in collaboration with various of government entities and institutions in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to achieve highly efficient performance as well as transparency and service enhancement.

"Our approach is based on accurate and integrated studies that would shorten execution period improve outputs and services to highest standards and generally enhance the quality of government projects system relieving non-specialised government entities from project delivery burdens and enabling them to focus on their core business to improve their service levels" he added.

Mohamed Salem Al Dhaheri Executive Director of ADEC's School Operations Sector said "The integrated and optimal educational environment representing the most important education development plans in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi can be achieved by construction of school buildings in line with the latest international standards.

"Such buildings will satisfy the educational needs during school days by providing modern facilities and classrooms in line with ADEC's vision to create a student-focused education system" added Al Dhaheri explaining that "schools are the main centre for students to receive education and knowledge develop creative capabilities practice various activities and host different events boosting students' innovation and creativity and contributing to the creation of an educated generation capable of critical thinking research and experiment."

"Musanada designs constructs and operates educational facilities in line with international best practices be they in the design of classrooms sports halls and multipurpose halls or the provision of an appropriate and attractive educational environment to cater for the needs of future generations and create optimal educational conditions" emphasised Saeed Mohamed Mit'ab Al Mehairbi Musanada's Buildings Director adding that "this is also in line with environmental sustainability requirements as this school has successfully attained the 'two-Pearls' Estidama rating approved by Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council for buildings that contribute to enhancing the efficiency of use and maintains of renewable energy resources."

The school built at a total cost of AED167 million is located on Yas Island Abu Dhabi and is considered one of the most prestigious educational facilities. It covers an area of 25000 square meters and has 75 classrooms to accommodate 2000 female and male students. The school also includes academic staff offices a library prayer area cafeteria swimming pool clinic and multi-purpose hall. The school has been equipped with all safetyl and firefighting systems and advanced technologies as well as the appropriate educational fixtures and includes utilities and external landscaping containing playg areas appropriate for all ages.

Musanada's Buildings Director added that the school construction work commenced in two parallel phases in September 2014 according to a well devised plan to complete the works of Phase I and accommodate students reaffirming Musanada's constant follow up of the remaining works at school ensuring compliance with highest specifications.

The Phase II works are progressing as planned to accommodate the remaining numbers of students across all levels from KG to secondary education while having in place several precautionary measures and safety requirements to completely isolate the study areas from the areas of current construction works. This involves the erection of an external fence that separates Phase I from Phase II along with temporary internal partitions to isolate all works and create a hassle-free educational environment following a construction approach that follows up and reviews proposals allowing a sufficient lead time prior to implementation to avoid wasting time and help preserve resources.
