Turkey unveils comprehensive security plan after Ankara bombing


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ANKARA Feb 20 (KUNA) -- The Turkish government announced Saturday a "comprehensive" action plan to beef up security after deadly bombing attack the rocked the capital Ankara recently and left 28 people dead.In a statement following his visit to Ankara Governor's Office Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said his government would introduce a new security concept specially to capital Ankara."Aside from security measures across Turkey a new and special security mechanism and an action plan that accounts for Ankara's unique properties will be prepared" he said.He added the plan would be presented to the interior minister who will study it and then refer it to him for final approval.Davutoglu said that an ongoing investigation into the recent bombing attack yielded no further information that ran contrary to the initial findings and the Kurdish PKK-YPG connection of the perpetrators was clear.The YPG is the armed wing of the PYD the PKK's Syrian affiliate. Turkey considers all three groups to be terrorist organizations.Earlier President Recep Tayyip Erdogan vowed to broaden fight against terrorist groups inside and outside Turkey."Turkey will use its right to expand its rules of engagement beyond (responding to) actual attacks against it and to encompass all terror threats including PYD and Daesh (the so-called Islamic State group) in particular" Erdogan said at a UNESCO meeting in Istanbul.Meanwhile Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu urged the international community to give up the double standards approach."There is no good terrorism and bad terrorism" he said.
