Jewish community leader says Jews feel safe in Turkey


(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) Malcolm Hoenlein a senior U.S. Jewish community representative said earlier this week that the Jewish community in Turkey feels safe.

During a major Jewish conference held in Jerusalem Hoenlein said that the “Turkish government does its best to keep its own Jewish community safe.”

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had received a number of Jewish community leaders last week.

During the meeting the repair of relations between Turkey and Israel which had been damaged following the Mavi Marmara incident was discussed.
