Tunisia urges scaling up support to Libya's new gov't
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) (With MIL-TUNISIA-LIBYA-BOMBING) TUNIS Feb 19 (KUNA) -- The Tunisian Foreign Ministry called on the world's key players to support the newly-formed national concord government of Libya as a means of bringing the country out of the current crisis and combating terrorism.The international community has to make concerted efforts to empower Libya's new government to restore stability and security to the capital city of Tripoli and all parts of the country the ministry said in a statement on Friday.The statement came shortly after a US airstrike destroyed a training camp of the so-called Islamic State (IS) in Sabratha city west Libya.The air raid killed nearly four dozens of IS militants including Tunisian and Algerian nationals according to an earlier statement by director of the Foreign Ministry's information Dept. Nofel Al-Obeidi.In Washington the Pentagon said the US airstrike killed a senior leader of the group identified sa Noureddine Chouchane who is linked to the attack on the Bardo Museum in the Tunisian capital last year.
