Veteran Italian Sara Errani is just happy to be back in the semifinals of the Dubai Tennis Championships.

The former top 10 player staged an epic comeback to beat American Madison Brengle 4-6 6-1 6-4 to become the second player to enter the last four stage of the Dubai Tennis Championships.

The former French Open runner up was trailing 1-4 in the third set and yet managed to overcome her younger opponent in the engrossing battle.

Errani was also a beaten finalist in Dubai in 2013 when Petra Kvitova tamed her for the title.

But the 28-year-old baseliner said she was not really looking at going one step ahead this time. "No it's really a different situation here. Everything is different" Errani said at the post-match Press conference at the Dubai Tennis Stadium on Thursday. "Just to be in the semifinal for me is an amazing result. Let's see who will win (the semifinal).

"I will just try to play another match and of course I will try to do my best."

The Italian admitted that she is struggling to reach the level that took her to world number 5 spot in May 2013.

"Well I am not at my best for sure. It's been a tough year for me. I am just trying to improve. I am working very hard every day in training so I could get back to that level again. It's very difficult but I will keep trying" she said.
