Kuwait- 97th round of Economic and Social Council kicks off

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO Feb 18 (KUNA) -- The 97th round of the Economic and Social Council at the ministerial level kicked off at the Arab League's General Secretariat under the chairmanship of Bahrain in the presence of Secretary General Dr. Nabil El-Araby.Kuwait participates in this session with a delegation headed by assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance for Economic Affairs Sami Al-Saqabi.The ministerial session will discuss 21 items chiefly the Secretary-General's report on following up the implementation of the decisions of the 76th session of the Economic and Social Council and the preparation of the economic and social file of the upcoming Arab summit in Morocco.The session will also look into the implementation of recommendations of joint Arab summits with African countries and South American states as well as cooperation between the Arab League and the United Nations.The session will also tackle the completion of the procedures and requirements for the establishment of the Greater Arab Customs Union and the Arab Free Trade Area in addition to the investment in the Arab countries and the creation of a permanent technical committee of intellectual property as well as discussing the proposal of the Kingdom of Jordan on the establishment of a forum for Arab Economic Policy Development.(end).mfm.aff.tg
