US led coalition against Daesh conducts 21 airstrikes in Iraq Syria


(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) The US-led coalition against Daesh carried out eight strikes in Syria and 13 in Iraq on terrorists' positions.

The US-led coalition against Daesh conducted 21 airstrikes in Syria and Iraq resulting in the destruction of the terrorist group’s infrastructure the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a press release on Wednesday.

"In Syria coalition military forces conducted eight strikes using attack ground-attack fighter and remotely piloted aircraft against ISIL [Daesh] targets" CENTCOM stated. "Additionally in Iraq coalition military forces conducted 13 strikes coordinated with and in support of the Government of Iraq using fighter attack and remotely piloted aircraft against ISIL targets."

Eight airstrikes near three Syrian cities Hawl Hasaka and Deir ez-Zor carried out on Tuesday destroyed Daesh tactical units buildings and vehicles according to the press release.

The coalition conducted 13 airstrikes near six Iraqi cities to the north and west of Baghdad including Ramadi Sinjar and Mosul. The strikes destroyed multiple Daesh tactical units and fighting positions as well as other targets such as Daesh bridges and a command and control node.

Daesh is a terrorist group outlawed in many countries around the world including the United States and Russia. The group has seized large areas in Syria and Iraq and declared a caliphate on territories under its control.
