(MENAFN) Boeing, the top American aircraft manufacturer, has successfully sealed a crucial agreement with China's Okay Airways to acquire 12 airplanes for USD1.3 billion, according to the latest reports.

Accordingly, the Chinese carrier stated that this huge deal only shows that the country's travel segment is vigorous in spite to the ongoing an economic plunge, let alone that the Chinese people are very good at saving.

Okay Airways, launched in 2004 and China's first privately owned airline, currently flies to Japan, Thailand and South Korea's Jeju Island, plus local routes, and it already struck a massive contract with Boeing in 2014.

The airline targets to have 80 aircraft by 2020, with 30 percent of the fleet expected to be wider aircraft, and it's worth mentioning that this deal is the biggest declared so far at the biennial Singapore airshow.
