Egypt's ECMI to grow medical industries' to African markets

(MENAFN) The Export Council of Medical Industries (ECMI) predicts exports of its member firms to African nations will increase this year and African markets will be a substitute for Arab markets.

Moreover, firms of medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics have high hopes on the deal signed between the African blocs that involve member nations in COMESA, SADC and EAC.

However, the medical industry lost a huge part of sales after the fall of exports to Arab countries, like Iraq, Yemen, Libya, and Syria where they gained large percentage of medications.

Egypt is preparing a new study for medical exports from 2016 to 2030 in collaboration with an advisory bureau, which aims to increase its export sales to USD 0.91bn in 2016.
