(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Jeddah February 17 (QNA) - The Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Iyad Ameen Madani met here Wednesday with a delegation from the Global Fund to Fight AIDS Tuberculosis and Malaria (FATM) led by Norbert Hauser Board Chair of the Global Fund .
Madani affirmed that OIC would support the Global Fund initiatives and emphasized the need of aligning programmes and priority areas between the two Organizations according to the OIC .
Meanwhile Hauser briefed Madani on the activities of the Global Fund notably the new initiatives aimed at providing comprehensive and flexible response to HIV TB and Malaria in the countries affected by conflicts such as Iraq Syria Yemen Lebanon Jordan and Palestine.(QNA) .
